Salzburg

Starting in the beautiful Baroque city of Salzburg cycle through the Salzkammergut region, touring between ten glistening lakes surrounded by velvet green mountains. Look forward to easy river and shoreside cycling and rides past woodlands and reedy nature reserves, stopping off to try local cheeses in romantic lakeside towns.

You'll enter long green valleys with more undulating terrain, scattered with lakes, dominated by mountains and dotted with wooden chalets and church spires - including the church where Maria married Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music. At the UNESCO listed, salt mine village of Hallstatt, sloping roofs pop out from bottle-green banks and relaxing here with a cold drink or cooling off with a swim is just one of the serene memories you'll take home.
