Lanzarote Bike Tour - Land of the Volcanoes

We say: Take a loop of Lanzarote through unique and spectacular volcanic landscapes. You'll cycle past wildly varying terrain with beaches, mountains, caves and geysers all lining your path. Being so far south, we highly recommend it as a winter cycling destination when the island is quieter and temperatures are cooler - though not so cool as at home, and with plenty of blue skies overhead as you cycle!

Freedom Trekkers say: "Our tour was fantastic. The organisation of the minibus collecting us from the airport and transporting our luggage every day was fantastic. The hotels were lovely and the included meals were fantastic. Unheated swimming pools at every one, refreshing and very lovely. The routes were demanding, but beautiful and we have really seen Lanzarote. The island is a Mecca for elite cyclists and we were passed by teams from Switzerland, Germany and France … We found lovely restaurants everywhere and ate a lot of fish!" - Laura Hutchins-Payne

"This was the second time we had done this tour and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. The roads in Lanzarote are generally very good for cycling and the scenery is amazing." - Sally Novell

Madeira Bike Tour

We say: A year-round cycling paradise, the sub-tropical island of Madeira provides consistent sunshine and a mild climate keeps the exotic flowers and gardens colourful even through winter. The numerous climbs and downhill stretches as you cycle around the island make this tour best suited to regular and experienced cyclists with a good level of fitness, but the steepest and longest climbs are softened with transfers.

Our own Andy Evans cycled this tour in December 2021 and reaffirmed it's a brilliant choice for some winter sun.

Freedom Trekkers say: “Lots of Madeira covered in the trip on mainly quiet roads. Beautiful scenery. Hotels good. Distances manageable given the hills. An interesting wonderful island to visit." - Brenda Herbert

We say: Starting in the stunning hilltop town of Ronda, you'll cycle a beautiful route through classic Andalusian white villages. Once you reach Jerez, don't miss the world-famous equestrian school and the dancing horses. Andalucia is one of Europe's warmest destinations so you can be sure of good cycling weather in the early spring while avoiding the peak temperatures in summer.

Freedom Trekkers say"First time to take a vacation like this and returned with just the best memories and the ships crew was outstanding and our tour guides on the bike rides took great care with us all. Everyone I came into contact with were always ready to answer any and all questions and took care of your concerns and made each day one to remember. The guides provided a map each day and were right there with us all the way. Growing up in America it was just wonderful to have the chance to see the sights that were in some cases 1000 years before my time and then even further back in time on some of the structures. I feel the value received exceeded the price I paid." - Gary McGill

"One of the best tours of our lives. The scenery was amazing. Our bike guides, Alen an Lucija, were amazing and took great care of us. Brought us to the best sites and local attractions. They even taught us Croatian. Our crew on the boat was amazing too. Food was excellent and the waiters/bartenders took great care of us. The crew and captain were amazing and took great care of us while on the boat. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys biking." - Victoria Brown

Danube River - Passau to Budapest Boat & Bike Tour

We say: It's no wonder that the dreamy blue waters of the gentle Danube River inspired the strains of Johann Strauss's waltz. The winding river passes by scenes of exquisite natural beauty; untouched forests, dramatic river bends and pristine islands offer an astounding sensual array to any traveller.

On our Passau to Budapest Bike Tour, you'll cruise along the famous river, disembarking to breeze along gentle cycle paths. Along the way, you'll stop off in idyllic villages and cosy taverns and visit superb centres of culture. All four countries are pleasant in June, without the higher temperatures of southern Europe. Add to that a visit to the rushing Rhine Falls and you'll witness some of the best scenery central Europe has to offer. The cycling around the lake is gentle and well-signposted, with plenty of amusements dotted around the lake from aquariums to butterfly houses to lidos.

Vietnam Bike & Boat Tour

We say: Travel the length of Vietnam from north to south and watch the culture and landscape of this amazing destination transform around you as you cycle. Gentle cycling days mixed with other activities and sightseeing make it easily accessible for every level of cyclist. Cruising the islands of Ha Long Bay is a bucket list experience not to be missed! We recommend travelling in November when Vietnam tends to be cooler and dryer outside of the hot and humid summer period.

Freedom Trekkers say: "This is literally the holiday of a lifetime. The trip is organised so meticulously, the logistics of boats, kayaks, beaches, bikes, hotels, lodges, lunches, villages, cities, historic sights and flights are beyond compare... Our amazing guides Hoang and Shauny filled us with the most fascinating information to bring Vietnam to life. It is truly a trip like no other" - Jain Birchenough

"An amazing selection of highlights, all skillfully spliced together. Ha Long Bay was stunning, of course, but the water puppet show in Hanoi; the traditional music performance in Hoi An; and the Cambodian dance theater in Siem Reap were expertly curated. Angkor Wat had green grass in November which enhanced the temple’s portraiture." - Kurt Wold

Round off the year with idyllic scenery along Thailand in December 2025

Freedom Treks customers say: "The tour exceeded expectations in almost every respect. The guides (Bird & Korn) and the drivers/supporters (Sunny & Rin) went the extra mile to ensure that all our needs were catered for and that we had a safe, comfortable and enjoyable trip. The bikes were perfect for the style of trip although distances on most days were longer than shown in the itinerary. Food was exceptional and the ‘snack stops’ included many varieties of fruit and local delicacies along with cereal bars and energy drinks. You will certainly not go hungry! The hotels varied from basic to ‘four star’ but everyone was clean and comfortable. If you want a trip to take you away from the usual tourist routes then this one is highly recommended." - Mark Griffiths
