Lying in the heart of France, Burgundy is an area famous for its beautiful rolling countryside, medieval towns, and vineyards producing some of the world’s finest wines. Experience the region’s landscapes, tastes and laid-back pace of life as you cycle alongside the banks of the River Yonne between Auxerre and Moret-sur Loing.

Visit gothic cathedrals in Auxerre and Sens and explore the narrow cobbled alleys and timber-framed houses of 16th century riverside towns with your expert guides. No trip would be complete without tasting some of the local wines and ciders, and taking in a bustling marketplace to sample cheeses and honey direct from the farmers.

The easy to moderate e-bike cycling takes place on cycle paths and quiet countryside roads. There is often the choice between easier or moderate rides, staying on the riverside, or venturing up into the hills. Stay on board a comfortable barge, cycling each day but with the option to stay on board for rest days, if you wish.

The tour operates in reverse, from Moret-sur-Loing to Auxerre on alternate weeks.

For 2025 departures this will be an e-bike tour.

Accommodation

Moret-sur-Loing to Auxerre - Zwaantje

The Zwaantje is 40 metres long and can accommodate 24 passengers. On the lower deck there are 12 cabins for guests: 10 twin cabins and two double cabins. All the cabins have a small ensuite bathroom with toilet, shower and wash basin, a fixed window (both double cabins have larger windows that also open) and individual air conditioning. On the main deck you can relax in the intimate saloon complete with air-conditioning, large panoramic windows, a restaurant area, lounge corner and a small bar. Free Wi-Fi is available in the salon (mobile internet, limited data). A great feature of the barge is the spacious sun deck complete with tables and chairs where you can relax. The new owners are experienced barge operators and will be delighted to welcome you on board. The enthusiastic and extremely motivated couple restyled the interior of the Zwaantje during the winter of 2014/15, resulting in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
