This relaxing cycling holiday lets you discover the towns, islands and natural beauty of one of Europe’s largest freshwater lakes at your own pace. Based in the waterside city of Constance, you’ll explore both the Obsersee (Upper) and Untersee (Lower) sections of Lake Constance, setting off on leisurely daily rides through Germany and Switzerland, and returning to your hotel each evening by bike or boat.
Riding beside the lake on flat, well-marked paths, you’ll pedal past meadows and wetlands, passing mighty monasteries and medieval castles – the abbey at Salem is one of the most important heritage sites in the region, and Wasserberg Castle gives jaw-dropping views of the Swiss and Austrian Alps. You’ll also experience the Bavarian streets of Lindau, the medieval town of Stein am Rhein and the striking beauty of Mainau – home to thousands of flowers, this island also boasts a baroque palace and Germany’s biggest butterfly house.

Take the train (Bahn) from Constance to your chosen airport, flying from either Zurich or Friedrichshafen.
Your days will involve gentle riding, mainly on flat terrain and with minimal effort required. Easy cycling holidays are suitable for most people whether you are a regular cyclist or not, however we recommend at least a few practice rides before your holiday!
