Circumnavigate the largest lake in Italy, starting and finishing in Desenzano or Sirmione on the southern edge of Lake Garda. Pedal on cycle paths and quiet roads, with some undulating hills and longer ascents which can be made easier with an electric bike if you’d like an extra boost. Staying in lakeside towns and villages you’ll really get into the swing of the Italian way of life. You’ll enjoy fresh food and see historic sites by bike and on foot, including an ancient UNESCO-listed fortress, Castello di Desenzano del Garda.

Following the lake’s dazzling shoreline, you’ll cycle through the Lugana wine region, passing world-renowned vineyards and an abundance of olive groves and lemon trees. Pedal along the Adige River into the Saca Valley to enjoy spectacular mountain landscapes in Pietramurata and vast valley views from 1000-year-old Acro Castle. Take a transfer to the smaller Lake Ledro then cycle to Lake Idro and swim in its pristine waters. See the magnificent Sabbia Valley then cycle back to Lake Garda where authentic Italian gelato awaits you on the Salo promenade. Cycle gentle hills to complete your loop of the lake and end the week with a glass of the region’s celebrated wine.
