Cycle from Lithuania into Latvia along the undiscovered Baltic coast and through untouched forests and countryside. Setting off from historic Klaipeda, the first stage of the tour follows the Seaside Cycle Route past sand dunes, wide beaches and fishing villages before crossing the border into Latvia. Cutting inland through the countryside, visit historic towns, a waterfall and a vineyard on the way to rejoin the sea at Jurmala. Cycling along the resort town’s 20km long sandy beach is a memorable way to finish the tour before taking a train into Riga to experience the vibrant capital city.
Riding on cycle paths and rural roads, this tour is rated Moderate for the daily distances of 40+ miles. The cycling is flat, but best suited to experienced cyclists. The route gives a great mix of historical interest and natural beauty in a lesser-known corner of Europe.
To see more of the region, why not continue on to Estonia with the 8 night Baltic Coast - Riga to Tallinn tour, to make a truly memorable ride through three countries over two weeks.
