Cycling history
I have cycled all my life - as a way to get around and for exercise. But more recently I have discovered it as a way to see the world...and I'm absolutely convinced that it is the best way to do it!
Favourite tour
There is something very satisfying about riding right across a country, as I did with my family on the Algarve Bike Tour! I loved the sea, the beautiful coastline and the beaches, not to mention the fantastic food and wine which all made for a superb holiday.
Next tour
I'd love to try one of the more challenging rides in Asia.
Best travel memory
I have done a fair bit of travelling, so that is a difficult question. But a few winters ago I took my family to China and we went cycling for a few days in Yangshuo. It was pretty basic but the scenery was utterly stunning and it was just enough of an adventure. I'll always remember that.
Strangest travel experience
On a flight to Bali I looked out of the window and saw that we were flying right past a volcano that was erupting! I thought that was a bit strange at the time, but the pilot and crew seemed unfazed.
Top travel tip
Plan ahead...and always use a company that knows what it is talking about!
