Good for

Cycle through the rolling green countryside of the Wye Valley and Welsh borders, visiting a selection of Herefordshire’s most vibrant and innovative gardens. From Leintwardine on the banks of the River Teme, ride to Hay-on-Wye, known internationally for its literary festival and for its numerous antique book shops. Continue to Weobley in the heart of Herefordshire’s Black and White Villages, named for the many traditional timber-framed houses which give the region a unique character and historic feel.

Stay for two nights in each location, allowing you to get to know your surroundings and to settle in to the comfortable hotels and inns. The cycling is rated easy to moderate, on quiet country roads with some gentle undulations. The three loop rides allow for shorter cycling days, or full rest days if you prefer time to explore on foot. Every day features visits to gardens or National Trust properties giving you a fascinating cycling and sightseeing experience in this beautiful corner of the British countryside.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about this tour. Simply click on a question to reveal the answer.

How do I get there?

For customers from the UK, drive to Leintwardine, where secure parking is available at the hotel for the first night, and then at the bike depot for the rest of the week. Ludlow is the closest station for those arriving by rail, then take a local bus or taxi to Leintwardine. For international customers, the closest airports are Cardiff, Birmingham or Bristol.

What is an 'Easy to moderate' cycle holiday?

Some days will be flat, other days will have some modest hills and distances of up to 30 miles. This tour has different route options on most days; the shorter options are easy, while the longer ones are more moderate. Easy to Moderate cycling holidays are suitable for most ages and degrees of fitness. We recommend that you have some previous cycling experience.

We are always on hand to offer advice, so please give us a call if you wish to chat about the tour’s grading.

Do I have to cycle every day?

No! On days 2, 4 and 6 you won't be moving on to your next hotel, so the choice is yours whether you cycle or not. Either ride one of the suggested loop rides or spend the day relaxing.
